Top Ten Tuesday – Books to Pair With Classics

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010.

Today’s topic is centered on books that pair with classics in terms of their themes. Some of these are direct pairings while others are more loosely connected. This was a lot harder than I thought it would be, so I only paired 7 classics. These classics are some of my absolute favourite novels, so I tried to pair them with modern novels I really enjoyed.
What are some of your favourite classics? Can you think of any modern books that could pair with it?
