Monthly Wrap-Up | March 2024

Hello everyone!

Incoming cliche…. March flew by. It was another month of catching up on upcoming ARCs. March is probably my weakest month so far in terms of reading enjoyment. Even my best books of the month will probably not make my top books of 2024.

During the month of March, I read 8 books.

So, here are some stats!

Number of pages read: 3166
Number of print books: 5
Number of e-books: 3
Favourite quote of the month:

“The best kind of love doesn’t happen on moonlit walks and romantic vacations. It happens in between the folds of every day life.” – Just for the Summer, Abby Jimenez

Without further ado…. here are my top two favourite books of the month from differing genres.

Everyone is Watching is a high stakes thrill ride about 5 contestants competing in an extreme reality tv show with no rules serving an agenda the contestants are unaware of. Lies, secrets, and deceit are the name of the game.

One Last Shot is a wonderful friends-to-lovers/second chance romance full of angst and tension.

Four Stars

Release Date: May 7, 2024

Sword Catcher was a disappointing mess as Clare was clearly setting up the events for book two, but unfortunately sacrificed book one for the setup. The world building and magic system were messy and the key information was poorly conveyed. I will not be reading book two. Two Stars

Fangirl Down was a fun sports romance featuring a sport rarely seen in the subgenre: golf. I particularly enjoyed the focus on Wells’ mental health in relation to the sport. Three Stars

Just for the Summer is a beautifully written romance about finding yourself, understanding mental illness and dealing with it all while finding your soulmate. Four Stars

She’s Not Sorry gets lost in the main character’s day-to-day life making it a slog to through despite its truly impressive twist/reveal. Two Stars

Lore of the Wilds had the potential to be a riveting romantasy, but fell flat with its magic system, instalove, and rushed ending. Three Stars

Heartless Hunter had all the makings of an excellent opening novel for a romantasy series, but faltered with its romance. Three Stars
