Book Binding | The Eagle’s Nest – HeartOfAspen

Hello Everyone!

The Eagle’s Nest by HeartOfAspen was my first Dramione fan fiction and it won’t be my last! It follows the characters as they go back to Hogwarts after the war and in an attempt to promote unity, the students are resorted and Hermione and Draco are sorted into Ravenclaw. If this sounds interesting, you can read it for free HERE!

You can follow along with my book binding journey in real time through my Instagram: Nadine’s Book Bindery.

Typeset

With this typeset, I wanted the chapter header to reflect the story hence the lion and snake on either side of the alchemic mandala with the eagle in the middle. The symbols used around the mandala and the ones used in the story.

There are a lot of letters sent back and forth throughout the novel, so I assigned each character a font.

Printing

I decided to use basic white 8.5 x 11 paper. After All the Young Dudes, I realized quickly how expensive paper can get so I used the cheapest paper I could find. Honestly, this paper looks fine and I’ll be using it going forward.

Sewing

Since The Eagle’s Nest is so big, I decided to try out the French Link Stitch and it LOVE it. It’s gorgeous and so easy. I’ll be using this stitch from now on.
