A Court of Mist and Fury: Rhysand’s POV was everything I wanted it to be and exactly how I pictured Rhysand during ACOMAF. Rhysand is a simp for Feyre and IllyrianTremors gets that across beautifully without Rhys coming off as overly pathetic.
The reason I rated it four stars instead of five is because Rhysand’s POV doesn’t read as a complete narrative like the original. It doesn’t flow as nicely and feels stilted at times as the focus is on Rhysand’s emotions and feelings for Feyre as they both try to heal from the trauma of Under the Mountain. This means that plot points are sometimes relegated to a line of text.
I was mildly disappointed that the fanfiction ended after chapter 56, However, IllyrianTremors wrapped it up beautifully so that the story doesn’t feel like it’s missing something. This ending also reinforces that this retelling of A Court of Mist and Fury from Rhysand’s POV is mainly focused on Rhysand’s own healing and growing feelings and attachment to Feyre.
“Tell me one piece of your soul, Feyre, and you can have all of mine…”
Overall, this retelling of ACOMAF from Rhysand’s perspective is perfect for super fans of the series as it gives readers insight into Rhysand in this pivotal point in the series, even if it technically isn’t canon.
