The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, ego-maniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…
Beautiful Mistake tells the story of Rachel, a grad student studying music therapy, and her professor/thesis advisor as they fall in love and discover how linked they truly are to one another.
Beautiful Mistake is a quick read. Readers can easily read this in one sitting as they become consumed with Caine and Rachel’s lives. The forbidden romance coupled with Caine’s sex appeal will make readers swoon from beginning to end.
One of my favourite aspects of Beautiful Mistake is the courtship leading up to their eventual coupling. It’s an intense slow burn as they fight their attraction to each other. Their interactions are fun and sexy yet have serious undertones as Keeland expertly lays the ground work for the imminent reveal.
What I enjoy most about Keeland’s novels is how she’s able to weave what seems to be a fun and sexy romance. There’s always something more serious bubbling beneath the surface. Keeland strikes the perfect balance between serious and light hearted making her novels a worthwhile easy read. Beautiful Mistake is no exception.
Overall, Beautiful Mistake is a story about forgiveness and love. Learning to forgive yourself is just as important, if not more, than forgiving others. Beautiful Mistake will pull on your heart strings while making you swoon.
