July 2019 TBR

Hello Everyone!

Summer is in full swing, so that means I’m going to be pilling on the romance novels! That might not be apparent from my TBR below, but I’ll most likely stray at the first whiff of an interesting romance. Though, I will definitely be getting to Exhalation since I just picked up the library copy and I’m dying for my copy of Cursor’s Fury to come in. I am obsessed with the Codex Alera.

Making Up (Shacking Up #4) – Helena Hunting

Snakeskins – Tim Major

Exhalation – Ted Chiang

Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker

Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch #1) – Ann Leckie

Cursor’s Fury (Codex Alera #3) – Jim Butcher

Have you read any of these? What did you think? What’s on your July TBR?

  1. I’ve only read Snakeskins on your list, and I enjoyed it. I can totally understand why you’d want to read romances though! I feel like summer is good for lighter reading in general. Enjoy!

  2. I have read Ancillary Justice and mostly enjoyed it. It can be a little confusing at first but it’s worth it to push through. Looking forward to seeing your review of Exhalation, I’m curious about Chiang as an author.

    1. That’s good to know for Ancillary Justice since I did a poll thing on Instagram and didn’t get great feedback for it.
I read the story Arrival was based on before the movie came out and LOVED it, which is why I picked up Exhalation. So far, it’s fantastic!

      1. Also- I’m surprised about Ancillary Justice not getting good feedback! Most of my reading buddies love it.

      2. No.. but it doesn’t stop me from wishing it was lol. I feel like Science Fiction has a lot to teach about societal improvements. That’s really why I read SF. I could care less about the actual science lol.

  3. I have read Ancillary Justice but it didn’t work out for me for some reason – it seems to have very mixed reactions.
And, I do fancy Snakeskins so look forward to reading your thoughts on that.
    Lynn 😀
