Currently Reading:
City of Miracles is the final book in The Divine Cities trilogy. I’m about half way through it and am really enjoying it. The opening sequence was sad to read because of spoilers, but the movement of the story is incredibly intriguing and I cannot wait to see how Bennett concludes the trilogy.
Haven’t read the previous books, City of Stairs and City of Blades? Check out my reviews!
Recently Finished:
Queenie is an intimate look at what it’s like and what it means to be a twenty-five-year-old Jamaican British woman living in London. Queenie expertly tackles culture, dating life, work place struggles, family dynamics, and friendships and how they all intertwine for better or for worse.
Queenie comes out March 19, 2019!
Only Ever You is an emotionally hard-hitting novel that might not be for everyone. The first chapter sets the tone for the novel while delivering a sucker punch readers won’t see coming.
Only Ever You comes out February 28, 2019!
What’s Next?
I’ve been reading a lot of ARCs lately since I let them pile up and now I’m frantically trying to get through them before their release dates. So, next up is…..
Ambassador Mahit Dzmare arrives in the center of the multi-system Teixcalaanli Empire only to discover that her predecessor, the previous ambassador from their small but fiercely independent mining Station, has died. But no one will admit that his death wasn’t an accident–or that Mahit might be next to die, during a time of political instability in the highest echelons of the imperial court.
Now, Mahit must discover who is behind the murder, rescue herself, and save her Station from Teixcalaan’s unceasing expansion–all while navigating an alien culture that is all too seductive, engaging in intrigues of her own, and hiding a deadly technological secret–one that might spell the end of her Station and her way of life–or rescue it from annihilation.
I’m really curious about A Memory Called Empire, I’m looking forward to your review😁
I’ve only seen good things about it so far, so fingers crossed!!
I’m hesitant about A Memory Called Empire. I want to, but something tells me I shouldn’t… Hope you have a great time with it! 😛
Arggggg! I had the same thought today as I was downloading it from Netgalley. Scrolling through Goodreads shows almost exclusively five star ratings, but I don’t usually trust early reviews 100%. Fingers crossed!
Look forward to hearing what you think of A Memory Called Empire
I’m about 14% in and I’m really enjoying it!
Eek, I still have to pick up City of Miracles.
Lynn 😀
I just finished it and it was incredible! I really great conclusion to the series 🙂
