It takes a fearless woman to love the most scandalous man alive in New York Times Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s breathtaking novel
Even a ghost hunter like Rosie Herpin couldn’t have foreseen the fateful meeting between two mourners that has brought her so intimately close to the notorious and seductive Devlin de Vincent. Everyone in New Orleans knows he’s heir to a dark family curse that both frightens and enthralls. To the locals, Devlin is the devil. To Rosie, he’s a man who’s stoking her wildest fantasies. When a brutal attack on her friend is linked to the de Vincents, he becomes a mystery she may be risking her life to solve.
Devlin knows what he wants from this sexy and adventurous woman. But what does Rosie want from him? It’s a question that becomes more pressing—and more dangerous—when he suspects her of prying into the shadows of his past.
Now, the legends surrounding the de Vincents may not be myths at all. But if she’s to discover the truth, she must follow them straight into the arms of the man she can’t resist—the handsome devil himself.
Moonlight Scandals is the third and final book in the de Vincent trilogy. Moonlight Scandals answers all the questions left unanswered since the first book while delivering an intense romance.
The best aspect of Moonlight Scandals is the intense connection between the main characters, Rosie and Devlin. Their interactions are fraught with anger, tension, and undeniable attraction. Every time they appear on page together, the pages drip with incredible sensual tension. This is no surprise since Armentrout is one of the best romance writers in the market. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough space for their relationship to fully develop.
Moonlight Scandals is a slow moving novel. It isn’t until almost 40% through the novel that the main characters interact in a meaningful way. The beginning of the novel is setting up the various pieces that will come into play later since Moonlight Scandals has to bear the brunt of the work in terms of wrapping up the series. For this reason, Rosie and Devlin’s relationship takes a backseat, so their connection isn’t as fleshed out as the couples in the previous novels.
The twists and turns at the end of the novel are well worth the wait. It’s exciting and exhilarating as all the secrets finally come out and the brothers have no choice but to meet them head on.
Moonlight Scandals is the most paranormal leaning of the three books. While Moonlight Sins and Moonlight Seduction featured moments of paranormal happenings, Moonlight Scandals dives head first with Rosie being a paranormal investigator. I personally did not enjoy this aspect of the novel. I found that it detracted from everything else going on and that the page space could have been better used developing Rosie and Devlin further.
Overall, Moonlight Scandals is a good conclusion to the de Vincent series. It answers all the questions left unanswered while delivering a delicious romance.
