The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
I’m about 150 pages into Red Sister and I’m a little conflicted. I’m really enjoying it, but I’m having a hard time with the world building. I feel like I’m missing something to understand and connect to the world and characters. Hopefully that changes soon!
Recently Finished:
Wow. What is there to say about Wrath of Empire without turning into a fangirling mess? Like the previous novel, Sins of Empire, McClellan storytelling is masterful in its character development, plotting, and pacing.
What’s Next?
What is there to say about A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe other than everyone loves a good space opera! I’ve been dying to get my hands on my copy of A Record of a Spaceborn Few for weeks now, but the release date keeps getting pushed back.
Hopefully, this fills the void!
After finishing The Opportunist I was excited to see that there were two more books. But when I discovered Dirty Red was from Leah’s perspective I put off reading it…. until now.
It’s time to get back into this story.
I finished Slender Man yesterday, started reading An Easy Death … and I cant think about when I’ll read next, maybe Foundryside.
FOUNDRYSIDE!!!!!
The worldbuilding for Red Sister is interesting. Like, the ice corridor makes things feel oddly constrained. Things definitely open up a bit more in the latter part of the book (and the sequel). And A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe is a fun one, hope you enjoy it! I’m hoping to finish Someone Like Me by M.R. Carey this week and get started on Adrian Selby’s The Winter Road. 🙂
I have about 30 pages left of Red Sister and you’re right that things open up, but I still feel as if I’m missing something. Maybe I’ll watch/read a spoiler review of it to see if that helps.
I keep seeing The Winter Road around. It looks good, but it reminds me of Kings of the Wyld and I didn’t enjoy it, so I’ll look forward to your review.
