Genre: Romance, Mystery
#1 New York Times bestselling author of Hopeless joins forces with the New York Times bestselling author of Mud Vein. Together, they have created a gripping, romantic tale unlike any other.
“How odd to be made of flesh, balanced on bone, and filled with a soul you’ve never met.”
Charlize Wynwood and Silas Nash have been best friends since they could walk. They’ve been in love since the age of fourteen. But as of this morning…they are complete strangers. Their first kiss, their first fight, the moment they fell in love…every memory has vanished.
“I don’t care what our real first kiss was,” he says. “That’s the one I want to remember.”
Charlize and Silas must work together to uncover the truth about what happened to them and why. But the more they learn about the couple they used to be…the more they question why they were ever together to begin with.
“I want to remember what it feels like to love someone like that. And not just anyone. I want to know what it feels like to love Charlie.”
I decided to reread Never Never since I purchased the recently printed complete series and I’m glad I did. Colleen Hoover is one of my automatic buy authors and Tarryn Fisher is quickly becoming one as well. Both of their writing styles and perspectives are unique yet mesh well together creating vivid characters and interesting stories.
The most impressive aspect of the novel is the chemistry between Silas and Charlie. Since they’ve lost their memory, the reader has no point of reference for their relationship or interactions. Yet, that doesn’t stop Silas and Charlie from having chemistry that sizzles off the pages. It’s clear from the first few chapters that their relationship is complicated, but their chemistry and attraction is hard to forget.
Having read the series in installments when it was first being published and now as one complete story, I understand a lot of the criticism levied at the ending. However, with stories like these, not everyone is going to be satisfied with its conclusion. I thought it was well executed and really enjoyed the overall concept.
Overall, Never Never is a well-written story with multiple red herrings and incredible chemistry between characters that will keep you glued to the pages. I hope that Hoover and Fisher team up again for another novel/series!
I’ve not read this one but it’s great that you loved it so much. I don’t tend to read a lot of romance these days but I’m starting to read more mystery novels so you never know 😀

You never know! But Never Never is heavier on the romance rather than the mystery.
