Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is a fanatic beginning to a fun and exciting series.
Magnus Chase follows Magnus as he’s thrust into a world of unforgiving Norse Gods and must delay Ragnarok from beginning.
Like all Rick Riordan books, Magnus Chase is a fun and delightful read packed full of adventure, action, and comedy. Emphasis on the comedy. I was laughing out loud numerous times.
What makes Magnus Chase such a great read is that all the characters stand out because of their personalities. They’re all wickedly witty and boisterous. I loved Magnus the most. He’s older than most Riordan characters, which I thoroughly appreciated. It made him easier to identify with and adds a certain maturity to his actions.
I also loved learning about the Norse Gods. It made a lot of things I’ve heard in real life make sense. For example, Valhalla and Ragnarok. I wasn’t expecting to love Norse mythology as much as Greek, but Riordan has a way of creating an immersive experience that you can’t help but love whatever world he builds.
Overall, Magnus Chase is a wonderfully written adventure that will have you smiling from beginning to end. The characters jump off the pages to create a truly immersive experience.
