What… WHAT?! I can’t even right now. I feel broken in a million pieces.
Empire of Storms revamped my love for this series and the characters. The past two books, Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows, were boring and lacked an emotional connection between the reader and the characters. Empire of Storms connected me to the every single character. There wasn’t a moment throughout the entire book I didn’t feel emotionally involved with the plot or the characters.
Empire of Storms ups the stakes tenfold for every character involved. There’s real danger ahead for these characters and I don’t think all of them will make it.
When Manon was first introduced in the previous book I hated her character. Absolutely hated her. I didn’t understand her importance or why Maas would introduce a character like her so late in the series. After reading Empire of Storms, I am in love with Manon. She’s badass. That’s the only way to describe her. I cannot wait to see more of her.
All the new ships in this book are perfect as well. I loved every single second spent with them <3.
Overall, Empire of Storms has rekindled my love for this series. I actually went into this book thinking that if I didn’t enjoy it I would give up on the series. Boy, did this book change my mind.
