  1. Biggest surprise.

I didn’t enjoy the previous book, Four Seconds to Lose, so I put off reading Five Ways to Fall and I wish I hadn’t. Five Ways to Fall was simply fantastic. The main characters were believable and real. Their relationship felt realistic and fun. Definitely worth the read.

  1. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)

Philippa Gregory, author of The Other Boleyn Girl and many others. She’s a phenomenal historical fiction writer.

  1. Newest fictional crush.

  1. Newest favourite character.

  1. Book that made you cry.

I finished rereading this for the first time in YEARS and I just bawled after because it was so nice to be back in this world. It’s like coming home after a long stressful day.

  1. Book that made you happy.

26125281The Power gave me a similar feeling as when I reread Harry Potter. It was great to be back in Armentrout’s world of greek gods and badass female characters.

  1. Favourite book to film adaptation you saw this year.

The Expanse isn absolutely stunning science fiction television show and an even better book series. The books are quite chunky and are straight up science fiction, but they’re worth the read tenfold. I would call The Expanse the science fiction equivalent of A Song of Ice and Fire.

  1. Favourite review you’ve written this year. (Booktube version: Favourite video you have done so far in this year)

Bird Box was such an interesting and thought provoking book. I did have issues with it, but I still think about to this day.

  1. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

tumblr_o0so62qg7z1r3oy4vo1_500The special edition of Lady Midnight is by far the most beautiful book I bought this year. The cover is unique, eye catching, and even has a cloth cover. It was definitely worth the price I paid.

  1. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

RobertLangdonI recently bought the special illustration editions of the Robert Langdon series by Dan Brown at a used book sale. I LOVED the movie when it came out, so I figured it’s about time to finally read this series.
